Season up your metabolic health plan

Let’s talk about the seasons in your metabolic health plan.

We all have clusters of events in our lives- holidays, birthdays, children’s activities, work demands.

Maintaining and progressing on a plan for metabolic health and weight loss can be challenging with these seasons that develop.

Adjusting your metabolic program plan to align with your changing priorities truly is sustainability at work.

So how do you do this?

I have a “4R” framework that will power you though any season of change in your metabolic health plan.

4 R’s framework

The 4R’s are Revisit, Record, Revamp and Review.

Let’s dig into this.

Revisit

  • Step 1, you start by revisiting your goals. When you embarked on your weight loss and metabolic health journey, ideally you set out your goals. A comprehensive plan for weight loss and metabolic health works best when it includes plans for eating, movement, mindset and accountability. So your first action is to pull out those plans.
  • Step 2, you will now record the events that you have in front of you. Make an actual calendar and list everything -all the work functions, dinner parties, birthday events, holidays.
  • Step 3, with your initial goals and your calendar in hand, you now revamp those goals. This can take many forms and must be personalized for success. You may decide that you will accept a temporary plateau in your weight loss in exchange for a higher calorie goal. Your movement plan may need to switch to a different pace of activities or activities in different settings, like if you are traveling a lot.
  • Step 4, as you are moving through your revamped plan, set intervals to review your success or areas of improvement with your accommodated plan.

And then (a few more R’s), Rise and Repeat as needed.

Sustainable success is yours!
